Grant B. Garverick

Grant Garverick grew up in the Galion, Ohio area.  He is a 1981 graduate of Galion High School, a 1985 graduate of Ohio State University (B.A. with honors), and 1988 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Law (J.D.). 

           His law practice includes wills and estates, estate planning, landlord-tenant disputes, personal injury, lawsuits, family law, divorce, dissolution, child custody and support, traffic law, criminal defense, and a number of other areas.

            He was a representative to Buckeye Boys State during his senior year in high school and was also Vice-President of the Hi-Y organization.  Grant was a member of the National Honor Society and played on the varsity Golf team while attending Galion High School.  While in college he was very active in intramural sports and played on the Ohio State University intramural championship football team in the years 1986 and 1987.   During summers in college, Grant managed the city pool located at Heise Park in Galion, Ohio, and also taught swimming lessons and water safety.  

            Grant was admitted to practice law in Ohio on November 7, 1988 and has been with our firm since then.  He is a current member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Crawford County Bar Association.  Grant received the statewide 2002 Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Award for lawyers under 40 and also is a Life fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation.  He is currently a member of the local Elks Lodge No. 1191, and was its former Presiding Justice. Grant has served as legal advisor for the Galion High School Mock Trial team for over 20 years, has been a participant in the Galion Middle School Career Day Program and has participated in the Career Day portion of Connections weekend held annually at the Galion High School.  He also currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce.  Grant is currently a member of Peace Lutheran Church and serves as a Sunday School teacher for High School students and as a member its Financial Resources committee.  He is currently the Secretary for the Galion Community Education Foundation and has been for 10 years.  Grant served as Treasurer of the Galion Chapter of the American Red Cross for 6 years, member of the Board of Directors for the Galion Center YMCA for 6 years and member of the Board of Directors for the Sara Beegle Day Care Center.  Grant currently coaches 15-under Girls Summer Softball and serves as President of the Softball Parents Club for the Galion High School
